Penta is launching its business bank account today for German businesses. Here’s what you need to know as a business owner.
As you may have heard, over the past few months we’ve been testing Penta in an invite only Beta with businesses all across Germany.
After months of blood, sweat and tears (literally), we’re ready to announce that we’re releasing our Open Beta in Germany!
But what does “Open Beta” mean? 🤔
For several months, we were doing extensive testing in a Private Beta which helped us make sure the basics are stable and robust, like: making a payment, viewing transactions and signing up.
This extensive Private-Beta testing has helped us build a robust and technically secure offering for your business.
So starting from today, we’re ready to scale Penta by inviting the 3,000+ German business owners we have on the waitlist to open a Penta account.
However, we’ve kept the title “Open Beta” because we’re still testing and improving the core-experience. There still may be some bugs, or the UX might not be as great as you would expect from us. But in order for us to squash bugs, improve the UI/UX and add more features, we need your feedback! So please send us as much feedback as possible.
Ok so, enough of the technical stuff. What’s in the Penta account? 🧐
At the moment, Penta is only available for German businesses. If you have a registered UG, GmbH, AG, GbR, OHG, PartG, KG you can open an account by going to www.getpenta.com and requesting an invitation.
Don’t worry, we aim to finish the waitlist in the coming weeks.
Once you get an invite to open a Penta account you can sign your business up, online in just a few minutes.
As a Penta business customer, you’ll get a business debit MasterCard within a few days of signing up and access to your Penta responsive web-app. You’ll be able to send and receive money in Euros within the SEPA zone.*
We’re planning to release a native mobile version for iOS/Android after the new year as well as other features that help make your business banking easier.

Security and Legal Stuff
Penta is a partner of solarisBank, a German bank with a Pan-European banking license. This allows Penta to offer business banking services in Germany and eventually all across Europe. When you open a Penta account, your funds are held at solarisBank and they are insured, just like any other bank (i.e. Deutsche Bank) by the EU Deposit Guarantee Fund which insures deposits in all European regulated institutions up to €100,000. We also use bank standard security and encryption.
Customer support is run by Penta. So if you ever have a question or a problem, you can reach out directly to us and our customer support team will do whatever they can to solve your problem.
