Lyto Engages With Career Paths Every Day: What Did Yours Look Like?
I was born and raised in Greece, dropped out of school to live and work in different countries. Because sometimes doing what you love doesn’t require the traditional path to success. And I fell in love with business and HR and completed my Master of Science in HR & Knowledge Management at Lancaster University. After that I moved to Belgrade for an internship and here I am, 6 years later.
Why Do You Love Penta and Our Work Atmosphere?
I love the mission! Larger banks have traditionally overlooked and disregarded our customer base while our clients are the backbone of every country’s economy. And did I mention prosperity? I love the people—my team is amazing, and I definitely enjoy seeing Penta grow, learn, adapt and succeed. What Are You Looking For in Your Talent Acquisition Team?
Definitely for colleagues who looove what they do, we are nerds when it comes to recruitment. We always look for ways to do this better, accommodate Penta’s growth but first and foremost we want every interaction candidates have with us to be transparent, compassionate and memorable. Does it happen all the time? Probably not—we are human after all. And we are avid supporters of diversity and initiatives and want to make the interview process at Penta one of the best out there.
Do You Have Some Insider Tips You Would Give to Applicants?
Simply come as you are! :)
At Penta, we don’t just want to get to know you, but we want you to learn about who we are. We know interviewing is tough and sometimes feels robotic, so we have made the executive decision to keep it as humane as possible. Especially during COVID-19 where everything became even more virtual and inhumane, we decided to drop the fancy HR questions and structure the interviews to be open-ended discussions, so we can learn who you are as a person.
We can build competencies, but we can’t build good character. So don’t stress during the interview, not everything needs to be perfect. We have seen it all—kids popping up, spouses coming through; but you get an extra point if an animal pops up in the background—mine certainly do. We want every person who decides to join us to feel as certain as possible that Penta is the right place for them and in order for that to happen, we need to be real with the candidates first.

In fact, I have never experienced a situation where we didn’t have several open roles announced.
